Vintage Mani DIY !

Hi Vintage Lovers!

Here Is your at home guide to a vintage Mani!
Hope You love it!!!!

What you will need is a small bowl with soap and warm water, wooden pusher, cuticle remover oil, cuticle oil, nail buffer, nail file, non acetone remover, cotton balls,  lotion, top coat, base coat, red nail polish, and yourself!

Supplies

1) remove old polish. File nails before soaking in water (remember for a vintage look choose a nail shape that is in the oval family , and do not saw your nail back and forth, that makes nails weak and break off, gently stroke in one direction)

2) soak for 5 -10 minutes ...relax.... you deserve it

3) take a orange wood stick and apply cuticle remover with a cotton wrapped on the stick. This is a safer way of removing dead tissue around your nail.

4) apply cuticle remover by pushing it back



5) one finished with all 10 finger , scrub under your nails with soap and warm water, to remove all dirt
7) apply cuticle oil on cuticles and buff nails with nail buffer  ( gently )
8) apply hand lotion
9) remove lotion oil from the natural nail by cleaning the nail with a cotton ball that has been soaked with non acetone





10) apply first coat (base coat) with 3 strokes starting in center then finish the two sides.




11) to create a half moon i find it easier to do the X technique. Apply the first line diagonal.



12) apply the second line, then fill in the moon then fill in the rest of the nail. Repeat on all nails and apply second coat of nail polish

13) apply top coat.  And remove polish that got on skin with a cotton on a wood stick with little bit of non acetone remover.

Finished! Lovely polished hand! Let dry for 30-45 minutes!

Polishes that I use:
Base Coat : OPI
Top Coat: OPI
Red Paint: Limited edition Fire and Ice Collection Revlon

New Finds!!! Bargains too!

Wanted to show some of my recent purchases! Some ebay finds, yard sales, and some vintage store sell out!

vintage store sell out : orginal price for glasses was $50! ( out of my price range!!) hahaha !but the sweet dealer gave them to me for $5!!!

Ebay steal! A pretty vintage makeup bag!

yard sales finds! My mommy picked themn out for me! red vintage petticoat and a vintage 50's grey blue coat with pearl and gems on the end of the collar

And last but not least the bag I won at Bombshell Betties Vintage, Iron Orchid Vintage! Will post an outfit post soon as possible!! Thank you  Guys!!

Funny Girls : Jane Powell Hair How to

Hello vintage Lovers!

This Is my Jane Powell hair how to. Its rather easy to do. The lighting in my pictures is sorta bad. But you get the idea! :D



What you need: Gel, two hair combs , pin curls clips, bobby pins and rollers



Take a small section on the top front of your head. And Direct two columns with pin curls.

add three to four rollers going toward your face. repeat on other side. On the back of your hair at least 12 rollers should face downward. or even pin curls.

This is how your hair should look like when you take it all out when its FULLY dry.

Start Brushing!

To create a nice roll brush underneath

insert comb

Insert on other side. Hair spray and everything! :D

Finish Look! Although its I part my hair on the other side. But it looks like her hair!

Outfit Post By The Harbor!

Hello There Vintage Lovers!!

Couple days ago I went on vaca! So nice! But need to catch up on blogging! :) I manage to take a picture of one of my outfits! The hats is from the 50's 60's vintage. So comfortable and warm! And then a vintage 50's jacket, with a vintage dress. You cant see it because of the coat. Paired off with cute little 50's vintage gloves, and a 50's vintage red handbag.  I was SO chilly  and windy! out in St. Micheal's! But I loved it because all of the vintage shops! Got a lot of stuff! My favorite is a adorable vintage 40's blue pea hat! Very Bette Davis (Dark Victory) ! 

Also this past Thursday I gave my little cousin a haircut! Took of 5 inches!! She wanted it just like Dora The Explorer. But her mommy (my cousin) wanted it shoulder length so I managed to give them what they both wanted! :) A Blunt hair cut with very long bangs!

She is too adorable!! Well I just got my hair cut today! Took of a 1 1/2. So Its refreshed! So I can do the Jane Powell Post tonight!!

Just Pictures : And Some Future Posts

Hello Vintage Lovers.

Not an exciting blog post. Just sharring with you few pictures. In the next couple weeks I will be finishing my Funny Girl Series and then moving on to the Silent Girl Series. Will be doing a outfit post. For also upcomming how-to's I will be doing the " Very Vintage Mani ". Which includes how to do the halfmoon "luna". How To : Winter Facials. (Includes Basic Makeup to achieve a retro look in 10 minutes)

Funny Girl Series : Jane Russell

Hello My Vintage Lovers!!

Sorry For the delay for my vintage hair series! I have been a busy bee and a sleeping bee. :). I'm still trying to adjust to my new schedule. This is a Jane Russell how to hair!! It came out slightly well, but I'm disappointed that the hair was still slightly damp. So the curls didn't go as well as i would like them to go. But the hair set is really nice .( The technique's for the pin curls was from my teachers old 1940's Milady cosmetology school book) Before the how to here's some pics of Jane. Enjoy!

The How To:

This time I'm using one of my mannequins! Her Name is Sam II . But I decided to change her name to : Miss Peggy Sue :)

1) Comb. Pin Curl clips. Gel

2) Top section 3-4 standing up pin curls each side.

Pin curls going mainly one direction . But one row going another direction for some wave.

One direction . Notice from Big to small. To add volume UP

Take out pin curls. Finger brush them .Then comb them out with comb.

Since Miss Peggy Sue has no bangs and no layers I had to create too big pin curls on her hair.

Finial Results! Back

Not the best. But the hair set is mainly used for the girl who has layers and bangs, and that is above the shoulder length. So if you have that hair cut, try the set out. Even if you have long hair See what the hair set does for your hair!
