Friends, Dresses, Oh my!

Hello Vintage lovers! So today I will be posting about few of my friends, and how we just looove to dress up, and some of my other dresses that i got this year!
I was always taught 'Its better to be the person who overdresses than the under dresser' , my favorte quote! So therefore I love to get dressed up!
The two vintage dresses that I have on are perfect dresses for summer going into fall, the only thing you need to add if you get a little chilly is a vintage cardigan .
The first dress the red and white is 1960's dress from poly sues, it reminds me of  Bye Bye Birdie , the dresses that they worn in the movie. It has tiny little tulips. I love how it ties in the front.
The second dress is a cute medium colored lavender with a two sashes in the front with bows pink and purple. It has tiny little prints of diamonds that are teal pink and purple. When I bought it it had the original tags. It was a Connie Sage Junior Dress. It also had the original fruit of the looms tag because it was made with cotton! Swoon So I had to buy it!
What were some of your dress buys?

Fun For All!

Hello Vintage Lovers! 5 days ago I went over to a cool shop, and ice cream parlor. That had a very vintage feel to it! The vintage shop didn't have vintage clothes but it had LOTS of vintage signs. I couldn't resist on taking a Marilyn Monroe sign of her advertising NEW- U, a glamorous makeup, and A Coke Sign to! They also had a nice 50's car displayed inside! It was swell!
There was a ice cream parlor that i seen, (although was too full to eat any but the workers had on the same exact outfit that they used back then!) It was neat couldn't resist to take a pic!

The Funny Girl Series: Lucille Ball

Hi All Vintage Lovers!
Im doing my vintage hair series. And I want to start it off with those classic funny girls. The first person who came in mind is Luccile Ball , from 'I Love Lucy'!
This however is not the most perfect tutorial. But it gives you an idea of how to create her classic poodle up do!

1) Our products. ( comb, banna clips, bobbypins, hair combs, rollers, and styling gel)
2) With hair damp apply gel. Take a square section on top and clip it out of the way. Then on both sides of hair that is loose take you banna clip and clip it just past your ear.
3) Un clip the top section and put a roller on the front of hair/bangs.
4) Apply as much pincurls as you like on top.
5) Create pincurls on the bottom of your hair in the back. Then two layers of rollers faces down wards. Then the top layer with 3 pincurls. (optional : while doing you hair set watch a ' I Love Lucy', like me, to get ideas!)
Next Morning!
6) Next morning, Take out everything from your hair and apply shine drops.
7) With your hair comb, there is a pik on the bottom and use that to seprate the curls gently
8) Brush your hair under neath.
9) Take your side section and brush it out.
10) add you hair comb to both sides
11) add hair comb to botttom of hair
11) with bobby pins form the curls shapes you want ontop
Finish look!!
Add a flower half hat to add omph!!

The Basic Series! Pin Curls

Hi all vintage lovers! So today i finished my pincurl how to. Like I said on my basics series part one on rollers, im not doing a hair set in particular. Infact im just showing how to create a pin curl! Its rather simple. Its was hard to get the bobby pins to show up, beacuse i have dark hair. Hope you enjoy!

1) Section your hair out. Its going to save a lot of time and it will look neat. Put in hair gel if you desired. Make sure you do your pin curls not crazy wet , but damp. Before you start a pin curl brush out the section, that way it will be smooth with no knots!

2) Begin the pin curl formation. I find it easy to create the circle by wrapping it around my finger then slowing taking it out and roll from there. Roll your curl slowly up towards your scalp.

3) Finished! You add two bobby pins. Make sure you have them like an X. that way bobby pins will lock together and your hair set wont go no where!

I hope that helps everyone thats not quite sure what a pin curl is. Do you have any tricks? Share!
Have a very vintage day!
